Onshore 820 decision time

Hello everyone. I applied for my 820 onshore but due to life circumstances I had to move back to the UK while my application was pending.

After two years I get a message from immigration saying that no further documents is required and that I have to be onshore for them to make a decision.

I am planing to move back in a few months and have updated them with my dates. My question is if anyone else experienced anything similar and if they can share any time line from when I land in Australia - how long will it take for them to process the decision?

Also as I will be traveling back with an evisa and if miraculously my 820 is granted sooner then 3 months would the new visa kick in or do I have to wait for the 3 month evisa to expire as you would need to do for a BVA? Or do I leave the country and come back?

Any insight would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks in advance

Rasoul

Once the visa 820 granted, it will kick in straightaway.
You can apply BVA before you current visa expire so you can stay lawfully in Australia while waiting for the decision. But, if you need to travel outside Australia under BVA, you first need to apply BVB and it cost about ~150 AUD or so.
