801 Visa

Hello everyone! I'm new here.. my 801 visa was granted two weeks ago. This is maybe a silly question but still need to answer my doubt 😀so my question is; Am I a PERMANENT
RESIDENCY after my subclass 801 granted? I'm so confused as a friend said it is NOT, it's only Permanent partner visa...can someone help me please..thank you

I think your friend is confused.

It is a Permanent Resident visa. There is no 'only' about it.

801 Visa
This is a permanent visa. It lets you stay in Australia indefinitely.
You become a permanent resident on the day we grant the visa.
For citizenship purposes, your permanent residency starts on the day we grant the visa if you are in Australia
