Hi Jim and welcome to the forum and lots of Greek people have come to Australia over many years.
By advocates, I imagine you mean immigration agents and though they can help, they can also charge a lot of money and you first need to understand a little yourself about the immigration regulations - whether you will eligible or not.

Have a look first at the top two heading links on Workers - Visas & Immigration
There's a lot of information there via a menu driven system and more at our Visas&Immigration section.
Have a look and then start up a thread re further enquiry.

Cost wise, a visa is about $2500, medical examination and police check costs about $500, occupation assessment $500 - $1500, an airfare $1000 and if you use an advocate, perhaps $3000.
Not much change from $10,000.

Living in Australia isnít going to be cheap. Though the expenses are relatively lower as compared to, say, the United States, it would be very helpful if you have a good idea of how much you are actually going to spend once you arrive in Australia.
