Hello, I'm Silviar, and I currently reside in Missouri, America (St. Louis, for those who care to know the city). I'm in the process of gathering information about visas to determine the best one for my situation, and it looks like with the recent changes as of this month I may want to wait and see how all of that turns out first.

Some information about me - I'm 25, and with only a few years in the market and my job being that of a grants administrator (I handle incoming research funding, applications, budgets, some accounting, and human subjects compliance), I am a little concerned I won't be able to test high enough in an area for a proper work visa. I'm hoping my job being a combination won't hold me back, as the financial skills can be applied to many jobs.

I look forward to getting to know all of you as I slog through the process.

Hi Silviar and welcome to the forum,
I have some friends from Missouri, on a ranch near Richmond, met them when they were visiting our neck of the woods.
It was St. Louis that had that bad bridge collapse last year [ or two years ago was it now? ] too, and have they built a new one or in process?

Anyway, and to your visa, and yes things have changed or are in process of - a sticky thread in the Visas & Immigration section for some info and thoughts.

Essentially with any skilled visa you need to have qualifications for an occupation and in your type of job here, it'd likely be accounting.
But have a look @ A-Z Occupations List - Australian Skills Recognition Information for starters.
