Hi trishher and welcome to the forum, and yes it is difficult for some to get visas approved and all the more reason for a good agent sometimes.
You say you used a lawyer, or did you use an immigration agent and one based and registered in Australia may have been the way to go re making sure of best presentation.

Thanks for the warm welcome wanderer...we used a lawyer/migration agent here in australia at a well known firm.it appears she was new to immigration at the time. we have submitted further evidence and have insisted that it is all given to the tribunal this time.It ha sbeen 13 months since the appeal went in.We are told that there is a 2 month back log.
