Smile moving to Perth from the UK

Hey everyone,

In 2 weeks i move to Perth from the UK on a WHV.

i'm really looking forward to this adventure, especially as i have chosen to head out by myself.

i have lots of ideas of what i would like to do when i get to Perth, however have found it hard to make any solid plans from here.

would love any advice you guys could give.

take care

Hopefully that big Ash cloud has not put your plans into too much chaos Heva - did you get out just in time?
Anyway if so or now a bit later, couple of young ones starting on opposite side of country - http://www.australiaforum.com/visas-...4116-help.html and some thoughts there may apply.
Also have a look in the travel section for lots of ideas.

Starting in Perth this time of year I'd be looking at having a look about their southern corner, glorious beaches down that way and have a swim with the dolpins at Rockingham.
Then a good time of year to be following the sunnier warmer weather and head north where you could pick up work around Geraldton [ some agriculture ] Broome [ Pearling ] or Kunnunurra [ agriculture ] before heading on to the top end, best time of year June to September though starting to dry out in Kakadu.
If you get over Cairns way by September/October you'll pick up work on Atherton tablelands if looking to do the 3 months regional work to qualify for a second WHV.

Doing farm work can be hard yakka at times but also a good way to meet other travellers and in Perth have a look on notice boards of different hostels and you may find fellow travellers with a vehicle to share to keep costs down.
