Hi there,
this is my first time on this forum. I'm a 42 year old database programmer living just outside of Edinburgh. I am married with 2 kids aged 9 and 5. I was in the process of getting the paperwork together to apply for a skilled independant migration visa for a skill that was on the MODL and the last thing I was waiting on was my skills assessment.

That finally came through a few weeks back and I was starting to put everything together to apply for the visa when, to my horror, they have withdrawn the MODL and have not yet published the new SOL.

I had to sit the IELTS to give me enough points to be valid for the visa and I'm concerned that under the new lists/points system I won't have enough points. Subsequently I'm scrambling around trying to find out as much info as I can.

What I suspect will happen Billy is that there will be extra points available with the new State Migration Plans to be introduced, they also being the way to the former CSL higher priority.
Meanwhile you could look at either State Nomination or do some scrambling in the direction of prospective employers for sponsorship.

I am a database developer too, in Oracle. starting my visa processing. I guess filling up of RPL is first major step for ACS for non computer science graduates.
