Want to move to Sydney for a year...

Hi Everyone,

I always wanted to move to Sydney for a little while and I think now is the perfect time to do it. I am Austrian but have been living in London for the last 5 years. I am quite settled here but I still want to see a bit more of the world before settling down…

I have so many questions and I hope that you will be able to help me.

First of all: the visa. I assume I have to go to the Austrian Embassy to apply for it?

Second: Work – where do I start? Should I start looking while I’m still in the UK or move to Australia first?

Third: Where is the best place to look for a place to live?

Any information appreciated!

Hi Mate,

As an Austrian you may be eligible for work holiday visa providing you are less than 30 years old.

If not - you cannot get anything like work visa as Australia does not offer. Have a read at Department of Immigration & Citizenship - I am sure they explain it pretty clearly there.
