new to forum! :)

Hey guys and gals,

Obviously new to the forums here.
I'm livin in Adelaide at the moment for the past 17 months on 3 different visas.

I'm from Ireland and currently on a 457 visa. Gotta say I love adelaide and looking forward to traveling around during my stay.

Hopefully I'll hear some good info and maybe i'll have some input that may help others in retrieving a visa.

Thanks,

Flinzer

Three different visas including your 457 now Flinzer would make an interesting story for some in itself and give a short description if you feel so inclined.
Anyway, all the best with Adelaide, some noce places up in the Hills and down the peninsula to while away some weekends, and one great thing about Adelaide is the hills are so close so easy enough to get out the city pretty quick if you want to.
Not much rain, not too cold either though good frosts in the hills at times but their water always tatsted shithouse - hope that has improved.

well its not all that interesting but i'll explain anyway. Basicly i came over on a holiday visa cause my sister was getting married. Planned on only staying for a month. The week before i left home my boss told me the company was going into liquidation and i'd have no job when i went back. So, instead of going back to a country hit hard by the financial crisis, i planned on staying for a year to work and explore oz.

In jan i applyed for the 1 year working holiday visa expecting to go from job to job. I applied for this job a week into my visa. Was offered the position the day after my interview. In march, asked about sponsorship. They said yeah. My 457 visa was approved on christmas eve! I was so stressed for the whole year wondering if it would come tru. There was only 1 complication with my application, the guy looking after it in the immigration department! He questioned every single detail.

In order to do my job i needed to get police and army clearance, so i also had these clearance certs with my application.

So thats basicly how i have had 3 visas in 17 months. I'd love to get permanent asap and not be tied down to this company with a visa.

I'm greatful for them sponsoring me but after getting to know the company, i have so much more to offer australia than what i've been stuck doing here. I'm 25 years old with 7 years experience. I feel as tho i'm being held back from furthering my own skills.

Anyway, enough of the rant. I'm loving things here apart from that.
