Hi Everyone

Hi guys, I'm Meg.
I have been living and studying in Australia for the last 3 years. This is my final year of my degree and I am currently deciding what to do before my visa expires in December. I have been seeing an Australian guy for 2 years and we have been living together for about a year now. I think I want to apply for a masters program for next year and am currently unsure if I can be accepted to a program and get a new visa before my current one runs out. I hope this forum helps!

Welcome to the forum Meg, and the only thing that stops people from applying for a urther visa is when there is a No Further Stay condition on their existing visa and it cannot be waived.

For the longer term student visas, I think the visa runs through until about March the year following end of your study course and that being so, you could apply for a further study visa if you have been accepted to a program before then.

Have you also considered the possibility of applying for a partner visa and perhaps working for a couple of years until you have PR and then doing a masters so as it'll be possibly cheaper fee wise.
