Exclamation Migration Regulations 1994 Amendments

Hi people,

I'm new to this forum. I have seen some very intersting posts on this forum recently and I thought of sharing some of my own experiences.

I completed my Diploma in Community Welfare in Jan 2008. I applied for my 485 in March 2008. After scoring 8 each in IELTS in April 2008, I applied for my 885 in May 2008. Even though case officers were allocated to my application in early 2009 however my application is still pending due to legislative changes since. I was advised that even though my application was at the final stage, it was going to be re-considered by DIAC. This was back in July last year and I haven't heard anything since.

I have tried looking for a job in my field however most of the employers prefer permanent residents or atleast temperory residents. I have given up on this now.

My question is: how are people supposed to find jobs in their designated filed when instructions to employers are to check workers residency status? I have had a few good offers but I couldn't avail them due to my residency status. State sponsership is not available anymore.

I have invested 6 years of my life and around hundred thousand of dollars in this country. How fair it would be if they told me to leave just because my occupation is not under SOL or MODL anymore? Would I get compensated for the 6 years that I have wasted?

My apologies if this is coming out to be rude, however I need to find one way or another to vent my frustation at the dodgy immigration polocies in force.

What are your thoughts?
