Hello Australia!

Hia members,

I'm hkunz, 26 years old. I just arrived in Sydney 3 weeks ago on a Working Holiday Visa (Visa Subclass TZ 417). I visited quite a number of places and i enjoy my stay here. I'm now trying to find work as a programmer but it seems difficult to find a job. I had 2 years experience in C++ and ActionScript 2.0 as an embedded software engineer but i wish to switch career to web development but everyone's looking for experienced people. The only commercial experience i have to offer in web development is Flash ActionScript. I only have university experience with PHP and MySQL but no one will grant you a web development job with it. I wonder how and where i should start my career in web development... Or don't i have a choice but continue with C++?

I'm no IT nerd khunz and if you cannot get a start in web work, it is probably best to get in where you can with an organisation that does web work and see if you can get some experience that way and also have a think about where web development clients are and perhaps by direct calling you may pick up some contract work on the side.
