Thumbs up Kiaora koutou

Hello, im not sure how i got to this page but as i was reading a few of the threads, i found it very interesting because im planning to move to aussie permanently and to have my algerian partner join me to start our lives together in Aussie. Im NZ/Maori and proud, NZ will always be my homeland and i will surely visit home as much as possible. The fact of the matter is i have no qualifications and finding work in NZ seems to be harder than i thought after getting "reconstructed" from my last job hahahaha... anyway ive had a brand new look on life and im all about making change and jumping in with both feet (hopefully landing on em as well) heheheh so, thats me in a nutshell for now.... ka kite ano

Hi jomarkie and welcome to the forum.
As far as I know if you were attempting to do an online check, that is only possible if you lodge electronically and that may be when you get a TRN.
If you did a paper application which I think all family visas are, you may not get a TRN.
Plenty of people on the Visas & Immigration section who have applied for family visas more recently than I and all seem to make reference to phoning or emailing to find out what is going on.
You of course need a Case Officer assigned for that.
Interestingly enough, I cannot recall anyone ever having asked about the TRN but you could ask there.

Hello too and welcome to you both acushlapotaka [ does it have a Maori meaning? ] and welcome and good to see newbies contributing right off the mark.
And yes we have many Maoris making Australia home/a second home and even a few Aussies heading NZ way too, a great country as well.

It would help to get replies if you had posted with your own thread in the Visas & Immigration section.
Will your visa be granted this month? Who knows and it'll depend on many factors including nationality and how busy the local office is.
Client Service Charter gives the official picture but official pictures are always not up to date because times are based on past performances and things do change.
Anywhere between 3-4 months up to over a year is possible and some people do get extra lucky and have quicker results.
Patience is a virtue.
