We do have some similarities with Canada Tyler, more related to the way of government and culture as developed from British settlement but that's probably about where it stops for we certainly do not get it anywhere near as cold as Canada, not much in way of ice hockey, our mountains are not as high so far less in way of skiing and no French influence.
But plenty of great ocean beaches, considerably warmer water and beach weather the year round with people sunning and swimming in Queensland all through winter months.
You should perhaps consider a Working Holiday Visa as many Canadians are always doing.
