Aged Parents

Hi All.
We are new to all this forum stuff and are looking for info on here about coming over to Australia to join both our children who are now both residents.

We are not retired here in the UK but feel that we might plan to go over for long periods, say 6 months at time when we get to our retirement.

What we would like to find out is the following.

1 Is the aged parent VISA the only affordable way to go.
2 Can it be applied for whilst in Australia on an extended stay or apply whilst we are still in uk.
3 We understand that we could only buy a NEW property as a non resident. Anyone here had any other experience.

I have not searched the forum yet but I am about to now.

Thanks for any input from anyone.

Nick
