Another offshore partner visa

Hi Everyone

I am 8 months into the process of applying for an offshore partner visa through the consulate in Dubai.

My husband and son are Australian citizens but we have lived in Dubai for the last 15 years.

The timeframe for visas ex-Dubai is 12 to 18 months or even longer (high risk country), so trying to be patient but also need to make plans for our intended move. We hope to arrive in time for the start of the school year (January 2015) but if my grant doesn't come through, my boys may need to go ahead without me Hopefully it won't come to this.

I haven't been able to find much current information from applicants in Dubai, but I'm sure there are plenty out there, or it wouldn't take so long!

Thanks to all who have provided such helpful information and best wishes to everyone in the queue.

Hellen
