hi everyone

hi,

I'm a newbie here who have just recently discovered this pretty cool forum!

I'm from Malaysia, but have resided here for close to 5 years, the majority of this is on student visa while pursuing my PhD.

as with most of you guys here, i'm on the agonising waiting list for the 820 visa to be granted

well, i applied way back in Oct 2013, with all the checklist ticked, meds and PC and everything but, alas, i think i'm not one of the lucky few who managed to get theirs within 7-8 months (hoping to God I am since those who got their 820 are also within this time frame , but that is just not the case).
hopefully, mine isnt sitting on a desk somewhere, gathering dust till the nxt financial year.....

this forum is such a great place for all of us to gather and xchange all of our worries, fears, anxieties of the WAIT!!!

but, knowing i am not alone in this wait made it more bearable. hopefully, we will be one of the lucky ones sooner than we think.
fingers crossed!

My sister and aunt live in Australia and I am also planning to apply. Will it be an added advantage for me in the PR process?
