Hi all, I am Dong

Hi all,

I am Dong from Vietnam. I have been in Australia with husband and son since early 2012.

I am working in web development/solution sector for 5.5 years now - 2 years here. So happy to network with those sharing the same interest.

I have fallen short of 10 points due to recently increased age and changed Australia study requirement. Thus, need IELTS 8 for all bands to get to the door of SkillSelect and really want to share my own experiences as well as hear from many other experts/peers in this forum...

Thanks all

Hi Dong! Getting an 8 in all components of the IELTS test can be tough. However, nothing's impossible if you are determined and if you are willing to practice everyday. Since you are working in Australia for 2 years already, I assumed that you already used to converse with Australians right? There are a lot of practice tests you can do online. There are also blogs and websites that provide tips and techniques. Here are some:

ielts-simon.com
IELTS Writing Common Mistakes

Best of luck!

Hi Joe,

Thanks very much for this encouraging message. I will try my best this time. I got 8 overall on July - 7(Write), 7.5 (Listen), 8 (Speak), 9 (Read) so hopefully this time I can balance a little more.

Thanks for those useful links as well. You must be an expert in this?
