Hi,

After learning from homeaffairs website that 90% of the applications were processed within 8 days, I applied for 155 resident return visa on the 15th of March 2018 - just over two months prior to my PR expiry. The application is still under processing and it is taking much longer than expected. Is anyone else facing delay in processing their 155 visa application?

My PR is expiring on the 21st of May 2018 and is there any way that I can request immigration department to quickly process the application?

Thank you,
FJ

The Department's website site explains that "applications that do not meet the residence requirement will generally take longer to finalise than the published processing times advertised above." Recently they have been taking approximately 2 months to process such applications.

You do not say whether you are onshore or offshore, but do you have a pressing need to travel? If you are onshore, you do not need an RRV unless you want to go offshore.

My mother doesn't meet the resident requirements and applied in March 9 - still waiting. But does the updated "advertised" processing times mean that applicants like my mother might start getting process a bit faster now?

Hi,

I am offshore at the moment and my RP is expiring on the 21st of May. Is the processing time longer for Offshore applicants?

I would like to add that I meet the criteria for 155 visa and has provided the supporting documents along with the application. My Kids are Australian citizens, I own a home in Australia which is currently rented out. We have also provided the reason why we are outside Australia at the moment.

This is what makes me wonder why its taking time. I have been informed by my immigration agent that recently he has observed delays in processing 155 visa applications - sometimes upto 2 months. Although, the decision from immigration dept was positive for these applications.

I would also like to check if anyone else who launched their 155 visa application recently got a response from immi dept within a month? Thanks very much.

I applied onshore for 155 visa on 10th April and as of today (almost 3 month now) I've heard nothing from Department.

My application is straight forward type as I successfully applied for this kind of visas before (always took no more than 2 weeks to grant) and nothing had changed in my circumstances. At the moment I have strong personal ties with Australia (3 kids in the school, house, business etc - standard set).

Since I'm doing business with overseas partners I have to make short trips to Asia at least every 3-6 month. I called and emailed department several times and asked them to make decision before my traveling date (that was 3 days ago) and still nothing. They suggested to wait. As result my business had profit loss and I will pay less taxes this year. Also since Immigration Department makes it so hard to do business internationally for non-citizens I made decision to close down our business in Australia and move it back to Asia.
