Thanks for your response. I got hopefulI think offshore and Onshore, is not mattering much after they opened the Border. They have issued more than 2 Lakh Visas mostly Visitors since mid Jan 2022.
Before border opening, it was general understanding to to give preference for onshore applicant, but now I can see they want to bring more people from offshore.
HiHi Danny,
Welcome to the forum.
I seen they updated the processing times for the 186 DE last night, unfortunately there doesn't seem to be any improvements..
I think from reading everyone's posts on here, if your not a the pmsol list, your looking at around the 6ish months mark.
Hopefully with the new Government in place, and the new financial year, things might speed up a bit.
Best of luck, and do give everyone an update when you get some news
congratulations. wish you luck🎉Hi all, just got my 186 DE granted today (I think they dont work on Saturday?)
My process is a bit tortuous because I forgot to take the English test before lodging my application and I have to withdraw my first application and resubmit (What a waste of money! TaT). Below shows my timeline,

Request for police check and English Test result: mid-Mar 2022

Resubmit Application: early-May 2022
Police Check clearence: late-May-2022
Visa Granted: early-Jul-2022
Application Submitted: 25th Jan 2022Man, that's long.
Can you give timeline? Medicals, nomination approval date, any status change in application etc .
Hi,Hi Guys,
I'm also an applicant for SC 186 DE Visa. Below is my timeline and status,
Nomination submitted: 18th December 2021
Visa Application Submitted: 28th Jan 2022
Medical cleared on: 10th Feb 2022
Type: Offshore
Occupation: Software Engineer (ANZSCO 261313)
Status: Received
Does anybody fall into my timeframe? Appreciate any updates on the visa approvals for SC 186 DE.
Thank you in advance!
Yes you are right. In addition, they have not updated the estimated processing time since May 5, 2022. I think they have a huge backlog.Hi Shsh,
They have released a bunch of FOIs recently, but not related to 186 DE. Here's one for 186 TRT(This shows how many applications they have on hand for all occupations - just for TRT) to get an idea of the backlog.
I think it will take a couple of months to see some improvements or differences in processing times. On a positive note, they have almost doubled the number of visa grants from April 2022 to May 2022.
hoping for the best 🤞 . Do let us know if you get any news.
Thanks for sharing, I am an offshore and I have been waiting for 6 months. I hope we all hear good news soon 🤞Visa application backlog risks causing ‘human misery and economic carnage’ due to understaffing, says Labor MP | Australian immigration and asylum | The Guardian
Julian Hill backs home affairs minister prioritising overseas skilled applicants, as advocates warn of damage of ‘limbo’ status for refugeesamp.theguardian.com
They are now prioritising offshore permanent applications (60000) by putting them ahead of temporary visa holders onshore.
Thanks for sharing.Update for Software engineers (ANZSCO 261313). DHA has released an FOI statement from 1st January 2022 to 31st May 2022.
Summary,
On-hand nomination applications as of 31st May - 508
On-hand visa applications as of 31st May - 524
They have granted average 70 - 80 visa applications per month in April and May.

What a great explanation, thank youBy analyzing the dataset, we can see that their processing time estimation is somewhat correct. From 1st Jan to 31st May they have granted 216 visa applications(ANZSCO 261313). At the end of January backlog was 399 visa applications. And the balance is 399-216 = 183, If they maintained the same pace(which is 70 grants per month), they need approximately 3 more months to clear the balance of 183 applications. This dataset was till 31st May and we have passed 2 more months since then. If my math is correct, all the visas applied till January should be cleared by end of August(approx). That means it's safe to assume the average processing time is 8-9 months. However, please take this with a grain of salt as there can be a lot of parameters to define application priority such as whether the nominator is an accredited employer or not, onshore or offshore, and other factors of which we are not aware.
We have yet to find out the application processing rate for the last two months after forming the new Albanese government(23rd May).
Thanks a lot for sharing 🙏View attachment 11506
Paid 30 AUD for it, looks like more applications are being processed.
