Immigration only allow one main visa to be active, so they always override an old visa with a new grant. That's scary! that means you have to withdraw your 482 application as soon as your 186 is granted.
it will take 6-8 weeks, you will get a interim medicare card. which will be valid for 1 year from the date of lodgement.Has anyone waiting for the results onshore applied for Medicare? If so, how long did it take to get it?
I applied it on 18th July, got the Medicare number by calling them on 22nd August.Has anyone waiting for the results onshore applied for Medicare? If so, how long did it take to get it?
I'll give them a call next week. I lodged the application on the 26th of July. I'll post the updates. Cheers!I applied it on 18th July, got the Medicare number by calling them on 22nd August.

Onshore.thats good to hear. Do you know this info mate ? just to estimate which applications are being processed.
offshore or onshore ?
PMSOL or not ?
accredited sponsor or Standard sponsor ?
Wipro is not accredited I think.Onshore.
PMSOL yes
Sponsor is Wipro, not sure if accredited or not.
It may be so. But the decision does make no sense to me because 189 must come and find a job, whereas 186 employers are sponsored and all already have jobs.So it looks like they've focused all their efforts on the 189 visa! It's been slashed from 36 months for 75% of applicants to 68 days! Maybe the 186 will be given some focus seen as they've sorted out the processing times on the 189?!
Does anything that the department of immigration do make sense? On a more positive note, it does prove how quickly processing times can change! It may be so. But the decision does make no sense to me because 189 must come and find a job, whereas 186 employers are sponsored and all already have jobs.
