Hi Shsh,

They have released a bunch of FOIs recently, but not related to 186 DE. Here's one for 186 TRT(This shows how many applications they have on hand for all occupations - just for TRT) to get an idea of the backlog.

I think it will take a couple of months to see some improvements or differences in processing times. On a positive note, they have almost doubled the number of visa grants from April 2022 to May 2022.

hoping for the best 🤞 . Do let us know if you get any news.

Yes you are right. In addition, they have not updated the estimated processing time since May 5, 2022. I think they have a huge backlog.
I'll keep you posted

Thanks for sharing. This is super helpful. Seems that 186TRT accelerated during year-end, hope that is the same for 186DE.
Accountant under 186DE stream should have around 300~350 applicants on hand atm, if average grant keeps around 50 per months, should expect 6-7months average

Congratulations to all who has received visa.
I am waiting since July 2021 for 186 direct visa..
Yet not received any updates on my visa.
Not sure on which criteria they grants the applications.
I am in a similar situation as you. joint solidarity! :)

They are now prioritising offshore permanent applications (60000) by putting them ahead of temporary visa holders onshore.
Thanks for sharing the article, which means the onshore applicants like me and many others here will need to expect much longer processing time, not so good news. But hope everyone (offshore or onshore) will get granted soon

Thanks for sharing, I am an offshore and I have been waiting for 6 months. I hope we all hear good news soon 🤞

Can you estimate how many months it took on average?

Can you estimate how many months it took on average?
By analyzing the dataset, we can see that their processing time estimation is somewhat correct. From 1st Jan to 31st May they have granted 216 visa applications(ANZSCO 261313). At the end of January backlog was 399 visa applications. And the balance is 399-216 = 183, If they maintained the same pace(which is 70 grants per month), they need approximately 3 more months to clear the balance of 183 applications. This dataset was till 31st May and we have passed 2 more months since then. If my math is correct, all the visas applied till January should be cleared by end of August(approx). That means it's safe to assume the average processing time is 8-9 months. However, please take this with a grain of salt as there can be a lot of parameters to define application priority such as whether the nominator is an accredited employer or not, onshore or offshore, and other factors of which we are not aware.

We have yet to find out the application processing rate for the last two months after forming the new Albanese government(23rd May).

What a great explanation, thank you

Hi guys,
Anyone with 262112 ICT Security Specialist(PMSOL) applied and waiting?
My nomination submitted 20th of June, any prediction?
Is it better to lodge the visa at the same time, or better to wait for the nomination outcome?
Thanks
