Hi,

So I have a friend who applied for 187 (Regional sponsered migration scheme) through a restaurant as a chef to get their permanent residency. Problem is that the owner has closed his business suddenly and is out of contact as well. My friend finished their studies 10 months ago and their student visa expired 8 months ago. They are currently on a bridging visa B and according to new rules, a person should have at least 2 years working experience to be eligible to apply for 187 and 457 but they have less than 2 yrs experience. What are the options to stay in Australia and to still get their permanent residency?

Probably very few options given what you've described, but perhaps they should have a consultation with a registered migration agent to review their situation and see what may be possible.
