Hi,

Just wondering if anyone has any experience with 187 RSMS Direct Entry processing times. Do they vary based on occupation and nominator? My 457 was approved in one day, and while I know it won't be that fast for PR I'm a little discouraged by the current 14 month status on the DIBP website.

I'm a doctor from the United States being nominated by the department of health in NSW. My only fear is the 2 years for RSMS is essentially "from the date of approval", so technically if it doesnt get approved for 12 months I'll have to work for the same employer basically 3 years.

I'm debating whether to go via the skilled independent 189 in 7 months when I have full registration or RSMS now. (The only other benefit is that my employer would pay for everything with the RSMS route)

Any ideas?

Update for those wondering, everything went through superfast.

I did the medical using ehealth and it was finished at time of submission. I did the application myself, no agent.

Submitted 187 on 10 July 2017

Occupation 253211 Anaesthetist, Citizenship USA.

Do you think the processing time is related to the applicant's nationality and occupation?

Northern Territory Department of Health nominated me.

Occupation is a low level admin job

Nomination submitted on 3 Aug 2017

Haven't heard anything so far.
