Hey all,

I'm kinda new here so this is gonna be my 1st thread

The 187 Visa has a requirement for 3 years work experience but it also says 'depending on your occupation' and 'most applicants' so im guessing there are some exceptions to this case.

For context, im a new flying instructor graduate who has literally no work experience in the field. Luckily, my employer does see potential in me. He wants to sponsor me but the 3 year work exp is a bit of a blunder.

I tried to contact immigration but the guy didn't really know either - he just kept quoting the actual statement on the page (he was nice tho).

Does anyone have advise for getting past this?

The immi website says: “You are exempt from the 3 year work experience requirement if you currently hold a Special Category visa (subclass 444) or New Zealand Citizen Family Relationship visa (subclass 461)“.

In this case, the immi website is correct.
