Hi,
I’m a 28 year old from Ireland, been in Australia since June 2016. I travelled here with my partner and I was sponsored by a construction company in regional Queensland and she also got a defacto visa.

I am currently on a bridging visa until a decision is made about my visa.

Hi, just wondering if you or anyone can help me? Your situation sounds similar to mine. My fiancé has been offered a job in regional Queensland and the employer will sponsor her on a 187 visa. They want her to go to Aus initially on a 417 working holiday visa (we are currently in UK) and then she will go onto a bridging visa after 6 months until the 187 visa is granted. I am over 31 so cannot get a 417 working holiday visa so I will enter Aus on a 3 month tourist visa and I will go 3 months after my partner to ensure that at the end of my 3 month visa I can go onto her bridging visa as a de facto partner and I can then start working. Do you know if I will have full working rights once I am on the bridging visa?

Thank you

Gareth
