Hi, my partner and i are currently filling a 300 Prospective Marriage Visa.
I am a little confused regarding my marital status.
I was married in 2015 in Indonesia. She moved to Australia and the marriage broke down and we separated. She has moved back to Indonesia since then and we have been divorced in Indonesia.
My marriage was never registered in Australia
My question is what is my status?
Was that relationship a DeFacto because we lived together for a year? But no legally married in Australia
Is my status Divorced?

i don't want to make a mistake on the visa and want to answer the questions correctly.

Your current status should be "engaged" (to your new partner).

Assuming that your current partner is not your ex-wife, you are a divorcee who is engaged now to someone else. As long as your previous marriage was registered and legal in a recognised country, you were married.

FYI, you will need to submit an apostilled, translated in English divorce decree with the application.
