Hi All,

My partner is Australian citizen and I’m living in Bangladesh. We are in long distance de facto relationship.

Here is our timeline:
Application lodged: March 2018 (Through lawyer at Australia)

CO (from Srilank) asked for medical on August 2018-done.

Next, CO asked for Police Clearance on October 2018- done.

Now—CO is completely silent!

My question is, how long it may take to have a result for 309 (de facto) visa for Bangladeshi citizen? It’s already been 8 months!!!

From the Departments website:

75% of applications: 17 months
90% of applications: 21 months

So you applied 309 offshore while you were in a long distance relationship not living together?
We're in a similar situation.
Solid evidence of 2.5 years being together (relationship registered a year ago, lots of joint travel, lived together for 9 months while I was in Australia, we met each other's family many times. Visited each other every 2-3 months....)

However, when we were thinking to apply 309 offshore partner visa. It requires us to be in a de facto relationship (definition on website: living together) - so I assumed we're not eligible to apply? Since we're not living together?
