Hello. The online 309 form makes no sense. Is it just me?? We have to answer five questions and there are boxes provided on the application for us to write these answers in (2000 max).

But I've read on this forum that we also need to attach 2 signed statements written by each other about the history of our relationship. But this is already covered in detail in the questions. It would just be repeating everything. Can anyone advise please? I'm thinking of just doing it anyway to cover bases but it seems like a lot of repeating of info. Thanks!

Hi, we just filled out the sections on the online application form and did not complete the additional relationship history statements for the exact same reason that you have outlined. The visa was approved without any additional request for information. Obviously each application is assessed on a case by case basis.
Hi. Thanks very much. The "partner migration" booklet states that you must include 2 signed and dated statements written by the applicant and their partner about the history of the relationship. But I'm now starting to think after hearing comments such as yours that it isn't as necessary now that everything is online. Perhaps the booklet needs updating! Thanks again. But I guess every case is different as well.

Like Paulsyd said, it is a case by case basis and some people decide to use the boxes provided, others chose to write their own statement and sign it. We have our own statements written, so we will not be using the boxes provided.

Avoid sending the same information twice anywhere you can. When your CO gets your file, you want them to go through it and not have to see the same thing twice. Ideally, that time looking at something that is a repeat document or piece of evidence could be used looking at something else on your application.
Great advice, thanks very much. This all makes sense. I'll avoid duplication as much as possible.
