Quick question. After I've been in aus for 5 years on a 461 temp visa can I apply for permanent residency?

Confusion coming from the website https://www.homeaffairs.gov.au/trav/ente/retu/residence-calculator

Whereby it states "Lawful residence means living in Australia on a valid temporary or permanent visa".

So if I understand this correctly, after the 5 years on the 461 I can apply for PR which contradicts everything I've read on forums regarding this. Just curious to see if anyone has any insight into this

I just found this on a migration site, please don't take it as gospel, but maybe it will lead you in the right direction.

This visa does not lead to permanent residency. The subclass 461 visa is for a temporary stay in Australia and to apply for permanent residency you will need to take a different route. The 461 visa will grant you 5 years' temporary residency in Australia and can be renewed once this period comes to an end.
