I've been talking to immigration lawyers and I heard different things about the 489 Regional Work visa and I was wondering if somebody could clear it up.
I heard today from an immigration lawyer that submitting the 489 visa requires me to have worked full-time for 1 year in South Australia or 6 months in Tasmania (2 years/1 year for part-time work). This work does not necessary need to be in the profession I am nominating for myself. However, if I try to submit an EOI offshore without having worked in that location for that period of time will result in an invalid application.
I never heard this before, so could someone verify whether it is true or not?
