Hi guys first time poster here,

My fiancee is from the US, she has traveled over to see me twice on her current ETA visa (approved 3/11/17). We wish to extend her stay in Australia on a 600 visa so we don't have to pay for the return flight every 3 months.

I am currently working full time and have suitable accommodation for her during her stay. She has not worked fulltime since 2013.

Just wanting to know what documents would i need to supply and what would be sufficient, along with some questions asked listed below..

**-Evidence employment or business activities ceased**
**-Evidence of the financial status and funding for visit**

thanks a lot!

While you can apply for a Visitor Visa 600 with a stay period of greater than 3 months, it does not mean it will be granted at all or with a shorter stay than requested. Also may have a NFS condition.

Also from your post proving to be a Temorary Entrant might be difficult.

Yes I understand there may be conditions imposed, we are planning to move to the US after the 12 months has passed.
I spoke to the immigration office and the rep said that having a letter from work stating my employment and work guarantee and some payslips, and also a letter from us stating our intention to move to the US "should" be sufficient..

It is a very bad idea to obtain advice from the Immigration Department.

Believe it or not they are not quallified to give such information and they often get it wrong and not accountable when they do.

Australians can offer letters of support but the onus is on the applicant to prove they are here for reasons allowable on a temp basis and have funds or acces to them.

The Case Officers process the visa's I.A.W guidance material and there are a few traps.
