Hi All, following on from my question a month ago. I am ready to start to submit the visa application for my fiance.
this was my original question:

Hi All,
I am an Aussie citizen and just returned from Lebanon after spending 34 amazing days with my fiance and his family and friends.
A bit about us. We have known each other since 2012 and been friends, met him in person back in 2012. Been in a relationship since June 2022.
  • He is employed
  • Lives at home with parents
  • Owns a car
  • Has never travelled

My question is that I would like to invite him here to meet my family and friends for 3 - 6 months because I know he may not get approved for 12 months.
I have full time employment and a very healthy income and savings to assist supporting him as his income is low and he assists to support his family back home due to the economic crisis of the Lebanese pound. I have a feeling it will be a tough one to crack and rejection may be refused based on these circumstance and Immigration thinking he won't return to his home country, but this is not the case because we do not want to jeopardize a Partner visa after we marry.

Reading through this forum I was unable to find anything similar to my story. He is from a high risk country, so I need guidance on what to put on his application to hopefully get him here.
We are planning to get married in Lebanon potentially next year. The visit is to collate evidence for our partner visa that he has met the family and friends and build up our capacity of our relationship time together to have a strong application after we get married towards our future partner application.

warm regards,
LizzynMuss

Following up on this we have the following documents and questions before submission:

* Letter from fiance's employer stating his employment and that they are aware he is travelling to Australia for 3 months and it is in English.

* An invoice from the wedding venue documenting the date of our wedding party and part payment made and what this entails from the event venue.

* His passport

* His National I/d translated by NAATI translator into English.

* I am doing an Invitation letter stating I am also supporting him

* When do we purchase Health insurance??? - ( as unsure when or if the visa will be approved)

* When do we book the return flights??? ( as unsure when the visa or if it will be approved)

* Do I need to upload pay slips and bank statements?

* Is there anything else he needs to submit?

* Is it viable to apply for an onshore partner visa here to start the ball rolling for him to come her or wait till we get married in October in Lebanon?

* Are there any documents or forms that I need to complete with the Visa 600?

Immigration say not to book flights before the visa is granted.

After the visa is granted.

We didn't even bother with health insurance.

You are eligible for a partner visa if you have been in a de facto relationship for at least 12 years or if you are married/registered your relationship.
Sounds like it's best to wait till you get married.

No we have not been together 1 yr yet in a de facto relationship. Even if we were it would be a weak application as we live in two countries and proving financial aspects, we don't have a joint bank account, Haven't lived together due to cultural reasons but also we live in different countries. All we have is our conversations on whatsApp, FB and video calls and I spent 1 month in Lebanon with him December 2022 to January 2023.

The employer should confirm that your partner can return to his employment, and delegates want to see that applicants have adequate funds in their own right.
The employer has stated that he can return to his employment in the letter he has written. As for funds in his own right. The Lebanese pound if you are not aware has taken a tumble and worth absolutely nothing. He had months of working and not being paid due to the economic collapse. He earns $120 USD per month compared to 5 times this before the economic crises. I have been financially supporting him as he lives at home to save money and the money he earns he is using to help his family survive along with his siblings. It really is tough!
My concern is him not having savings in his account because simply what is $120/month right.. that this will be a negative in him being granted a visa even though we are going to do everything by the book. There is no way we will jeopardize our offshore visa by doing anything other than him visiting here to build capacity strength for our visa and for him to meet my family and friends again for visa application strength when we marry in Lebanon later in the year.

It would be amazing for him to stay here in Australia but I know it would go against the visitor visa conditions and we are not prepared to jeopardize this. I am thinking of putting that into the letter that I will submit with the visitor visa application.

If the visa is refused, you have at least introduced yourselves as partners to an official body, immigration. no less. You could contact the commissar (ATO) online to ascertain whether you may claim your partner as a dependant.

Hi Westly, I am not sure about how that works. I would like to be able to have a Video call appointment with you to discuss this further. I will pay of course as I know you are an immigration agent. I want to get a feel of which pathways are best for us moving forward. Inbox me to discuss further.

Dear Lizzy
If you go to my website pinoyau.com and use the 'contact us' form I will send you assessment forms so I can undertake a thorough assessment of your case and advise you. To maintain client confidentiality I avoid FB, Microsoft Teams and similar intrusive and insecure platforms. I might change my mind if I find a service my grandchildren cannot hack.

My husband is from a “high-risk” country - just be aware anything you apply for will have a long wait. We are over a year now waiting for his partner visa and have just applied for a tourist visa for him as I am pregnant and we want to head to Australia - it’s only been 2 weeks wait so far for that. We had to get travel insurance ahead. We have letters explaining my pregnancy is high-risk including from my doctor, invite letters from my parents for accommodation, letters proving we will return to Morocco after the baby if we have no partner visa for him, bank statements showing savings in his name etc. We lived together (I had already lived in Morocco for 2 years before we met) and then married 1.5 years ago and even with a kid on the way there is no way to speed up the process. I believe your application would be processed where ours is (in Jordan) and have been told now it’s on average a 1.5 - 2 year wait at best. You may get lucky but without de facto/ living together evidence it’s even harder to prove a partner visa than it already is for a “high risk“ country.

Hi Elmstreet, My fiance is in Lebanon which is the neighbouring country to Jordan where your application is lodged.. I would like to reach out to you and chat if that is OK. It must be so hard for you both. Did you mention that you just applied for the visitor visa 2 weeks ago? What about the Partner visa? when you did apply for this one?

warm regards,
Lizzy

Hi Lizzy, We applied for the partner visa 12 months ago and it’s still on “received”. 2 and a bit weeks now since the tourist visa application - no word on that yet but we are hopeful!

So Lebanon would undoubtedly be processed in Jordan, meaning long wait times for a partner visa. It’s horrible, especially when you see many people from western countries getting their visas processed in a few months, but there’s nothing to be done except find ways to manage the stress. Or see if there is a type of work visa available at the moment that your fiancé can apply for as the government is prioritising those.

So after all that we got our Temp Partner Visa this morning! Hooray! So I guess things are speeding up! But the stress and wait is still killer, so be prepared for that!
Aww what a relief for you and congratulations. That means that you will now need to cancel the visitor visa application. :) So 12 months is still a way to go but Yes, it appears to be faster than it has been. I am so happy for you. I hope that we have a quick turn around. Am I about message you privately to chat about what you did so it gives me an idea moving forward on our application please. :)

Hi Lizzy
We bought my Cambodian sister in law out on a 600 last May. She ended up getting an 18 month timeframe / 12 month stay at a time from arrival / multiple entry
She had no money
I simply wrote an honest cover letter saying the average Cambodian earns $200 a month if they are lucky and any savings were decimated during Covid19 . I wrote that I was more than capable of supporting and would cover any and all expenses on arrival.. I also submitted my pay slips. I do earn pretty good money.

tks
