Hi guys, we're almost ready to submit our application for the 820 visa.
I'm wondering how long, once submitted before we hear anything and receive a bridging visa.

BVA is automatic and will come through immediately or within a few days after payment.

Yep, a day or three with luck (or more, who knowsss). Seems that time might be where it is assigned to a immigration officer because our BVA was signed by one.

So is it an email kind of response with an attachment?
And that is sufficient to show a prospective employer as having work rights?

Yes, if you apply online you'll get a grant email with a pdf of the BVA. You can show the employer the grant notice but likely they'll just use the grant number to check that is your current visa in VEVO. Keep in mind the BVA doesn't go into effect until your current visa ends.

Just a quick one guys.

My partner first got her holiday visa in August of last year. She has used it for two holidays so far. Each time allowing her 3 months if she chose to stay for that long.
Does that mean she can't work until august this year or can she work when her 3 month stint is up?

It's when the stay period ends so 3 months onshore in her case assuming she doesn't leave at any point during that time and resets the stay period.
