We got our visa approved about an hour ago !!!

Applied online from Sydney 23rd of October 2014. No contact until about a week ago to request an additional police check and visa approved within a day of providing that last piece of evidence

We are over the moon and it's an amazing engagement and early xmas present

I'm pretty sure the fee is $1,145 if you're coming off a PMV. See DIBP link

$6,865 is the base charge for an 820, if you are applying for it direct. The same base charge would already have been paid as part of the PMV application.

Thanks majabelline for correcting me, I forgot to take into account she was from PMV. Yup, fee would be cheaper.

Any news from December 2014 applicants? I received the letter that my application is now being processed in Perth but haven't heard anything else yet. It's been over 4 weeks now that I received the letter - how long would it usually take after this notification till the actual visa grant? I read somewhere that it's usually 4 weeks?

Hi All. I am a little bit frustrated with this process. I have been assigned a CO in Melbourne and she has been really great about communicating with me via email. It is proving difficult to give evidence to support my marriage as we have been married for about 10 years and never gave much of the details in this application a second thought. That all changed when my husband was deported here. I will have the information, it is just difficult. We have never had joint accounts and our mortgage in both countries is in my husbands name.

But enough whinging. The caseworker has requested the Form 80 which now sounds like it is pretty standard. For some reason, she does not have the Form 40SP--and me deviating from my usual anal social worker behavior did not save a copy. So, I am now reinventing the wheel.

Now for the big one--FBI checks. How do I even obtain one? I saw another poster stating that the fingerprints taken at the Local PD were not accepted and they were re-taken on a trip home. I cannot go home, I have just started an amazing job and am very stressed... Any help would be great. And I am sure the answers are on the forum somewhere but I am honestly full on over the top stressed. Thanks,

You need to fill a form from the FBI to request FBI check
do your finger print in Local Police station. Ensure you have prepaid envelope

Thanks Nick, I just want to make sure I get the correct fingerprints as someone said that the FBI did not accept the ones from their local police station.

does anyone know if the form 80 is mandatory? it wasn't on the checklist I had when applying in December 2014 but I do remember filling a form out very simular I just cant remember what it was called. A few days after sending in my application I was asked for the police check and the health check which I had done I was just waiting for the results and I was never asked fir the form 80 then, should I be worried?

I just logged on to the new and "improved" immiaccount. I am going to be uploading the evidence of getting police checks applied for and a screenshot showing I am going to get my health check done soon. But at the top I noticed a message saying "this application will be eligible for consideration of permanent residence 2 years from lodgement". This time is about when I expect my FBI clearance to come back. So does that mean that once I submit that final piece (i have a clear record both here and back home) and don't see any major health concerns showing up on the medical check). Does that mean I would likely be granted PR without having the temp partner visa first?

Edit: Applied March 2014 so it will likely have been two years from lodgement.

Just a quick question and I'd really like your opinions on this...
I applied for the partner (defacto 820/802) visa on 18th March this year, and have been on my bringing visa A since then, as you know the wait times for the 820 are ridiculous at the moment.

Myself and my partner have been talking about getting married, maybe in February.
Do you think this would hinder my application?

I'm from a low risk country (UK), myself and my partner meet the requirements and I believe I have uploaded enough evidence, but...

Basically, do you guys think it would strengthen our application or hinder it?
We are not getting married only because of the visa, and I'm worried it will look like that to the CO.

The FBI Website says not to send Pre-Pair Envelopes, it may be something they accepted in the past but no longer.

I was never asked for it when my CO emailed me regarding other additional information but now I'm worried they might be waiting on it so I emailed the DIAC asking if they needed it and this was their reply. "We can confirm that you have not previously submitted your Form 80. You may complete the form 80 and submit via email or post to our processing area". Now I'm not sure if they are just asking because I emailed or because they actually want, I have replied and asked if its mandatory but I'm still waiting on their reply. when they say "You may" does that mean you can If you want too? I'm a little confused as to what to do. Should I just wait to see if my CO requests it?
