The email I received back in July was the automated one -- the only things I thought we were missing was the medicals/form 80 (as police check was already submitted, etc) so we submitted those promptly. It was in December that I got the email stating my sponsor needed to submit the missing statement, so we did that then....now it has been about 1.5 months since we submitted that statement...I don't want to bother immi, but I am thinking about emailing and asking how much longer, and perhaps just inquire about why it says approved by their name. I don't know...I don't want to hinder my application in anyway either lol, I am probably overthinking things. I will keep you posted if I hear anything!
hmm...well, now I'm not sure if I should upload the form 80 now or not. I'm from a low-risk country, and I read that one doesn't have to upload it unless specifically asked by immi. Since the email listed every document under the sun, I didn't take that as requesting the form 80 ha ha.

I don't think emailing will hurt, but I can understand why you'd be hesitant. I always overthink everything when it comes to immigration! Good luck anyway!

HI Guys

I am trying to gather more evidence to submit to the immigration at the moment on our genuine/ongoing criteria. I have already done everything that people normally submit of course and am tyring to think of MORE evidence! Please tell me of any unique piece of evidence you have provided before if any! Thank you for your help!

Don't know if it's unique or if it's suggested but, copies of doctors, hospital, dental records that show us as listed as each other's next of kin and defacto partners. Work records that show the same..

My 820 was approved today :)

I applied on 14th February 2016. In December I was asked to supply form 80 and AFP check which I submitted first week of January.
I wasn't assigned a case officer and didn't receive any other communication.
Congratulations Spiedze.
We hit the 13th month today and it is still a waiting game for us. Hopefully things will start coming up soon for all of us that's still waiting :)

I don't see any reason to get police/medical checks done BEFORE applying or during the first month. Most applications are taking the full 12 months to process, and I haven't seen any processed in less than 9 months lately. I'd say it's best to wait 4 months, lest your application takes 15 months to process as is being estimated.

As you will probably be updating evidence over the course of the 12 month processing period, the whole "its better to get it over and done with" argument is nullified IMO. Usually, you can only schedule a medical exam no more than one week before your appointment. So, it's not like you'll be waiting a long time. Foreign federal police checks take the longest to process.
Hi rose i wasn't sure if this response was aimed towards me, thanks for the advice its good to get a lot of different opinions on matters, i didn't lodge online so if they do request any further information do i have to post it or can it be submitted online?

thanks again

I was granted my 300 and 820 and was never asked for a Form 80, thank goodness! That is one terrible form to fill out.
Thanks for the input! If the processing goes on for another week...maybe I'll submit one just in case :)

Also an update: not only does my partner's sponsorship application say
"approved", but we also can't upload any more evidence! Not sure if this is a good sign that was actually processed + approved (knock on wood).

Congratulations! You must be over the moon! I've just read your blog there - very thorough and detailed. I definitely would have benefited from reading that when I was applying.

I just had a request from my C.O for my medical assessment last week and have been given 28 days to complete it, so hopefully once that's out of the way I will have some good news soon enough too!

Hope you're celebrating in some form!

Hi guys, just thought I'd come on and make MY announcement...after 15 months my 820 has just been granted! I'm over the moon, and very relieved :) I must say, compared to some other users on here...my evidence wasn't the best. My best advice to give at this point is: DON'T STRESS. I know it's easier said than done, but in the weeks leading up to my application submission I was a wreck. I made myself very sick, and I wouldn't want that to happen to anyone else on here. Moreover, while I suggest to wait 3-4 months before submitting medicals/police checks, I wouldn't wait until last minute like I did.

Timeline

Applied for 820: 17 October 2015
Automated Request for More Info: 26 July 2016
AU Police Check Submitted: 2 August 2016
Medical Completed: 13 September 2016
US State Police Check Submitted: 7 October 2016
FBI Check Submitted: 30 October 2016
Personal Request for Additional Info: 16 January 2017
820 Granted: 25 January 2017

Good luck, guys! Silly question, but is there any thing I need to submit for 801 for the near future? There wasn't anything in my grant letter about it aside from saying immi will contact me again around the 2 year period.

Forgot to mention, I applied from Melbourne online.

I think it is no matter when you do your medical, i done my 1 week after i applied cuz if it something wrong with your helt it is better to know it earlier :D and lot of the peole here said that is valid for 18 monhts and my police chek i done in October

A lot of people just seem to scramble for the medical before applying, but like you said, I guess it doesn't matter. For me, there would be very little to near impossible chance that I had HIV or TB. The medical was actually very cut and dry in my experience. Male nurse took my vitals + urine sample. Male doctor just felt my lymph nodes and pelvis...now that I think about it, he really didn't do much ha ha. Then I had the chest X-Ray and had my blood taken. Very simple! I was under the impression medicals were only good for 12 months, so due to the processing times taking 12+ months, I thought it'd be better for medicals to be taken a few months later.

Wow, congrats Sirilejeune & HRose! I am happy for you both!! And still eagerly awaiting my approval....I think I am officially waiting the longest in this group currently...from a low risk country - I just went and checked and while I am able to add more evidence on my account, my sponsor is no longer available...and still says approved too (though the approved bit has been there for awhile now)....I literally JUST clued in that my police check from Canada expired this week :( :( :( I did it thinking 15 months would be the absolute longest I would have to wait and allowed for that...but also I had heard it can take ages for them to come in, and had read that several people had their fingerprints rejected so I wanted to make sure it was ready to go. Now I regret doing it so early. I am torn between ordering a new one (It cost a fair bit of $$, and it did take a fair amount of time too...and finances are tight at the moment), or waiting to see if they will just accept it as a few days past the one year (assuming they get to my app soon!!).

Those of you who have just been approved, did immigration contact your 888 witnesses? Nobody on our application has been contacted as of yet, so I am wondering if I still have a ways to go...or perhaps they don't always contact them?? With tomorrow being a holiday, I am not feeling very optimistic I will get my answer this week. Though it would be fabulous if I did :)

Did Immi ask you to supply the police cert or did you do it prior to that - based on other posts I've seen in this forum, if they asked for it and it expired the case officers have been known to ignore that fact...how correct this is I don't know, but I've seen more the one post in relation to police checks and medicals that were asked for.
