Hi All,

I just want to share the good news that my 820 has been granted today! Thank you so much for all the advice that everyone has provided in this forum.
Here is the timeline of my application:

24 Sep 2016: Applied for 820/801 (without an agent), front loaded all the required documents, BVA granted immediately
24 Nov 2016: BVB granted
10 Feb 2017: BVB granted
09 Jun 2017: Received the request for further documents: Form 80, Health assessment and NPC from AFP (the email seems generic and no CO assigned, but they specifically requested for these 3 things)
14 Jun 2017: Health assessment done, clearance was provided in my ImmiAccount soon after that
19 Jun 2017: Uploaded form 80 and NPC from AFP, emailed DIAC to let them know that I have completed all the requested docs, no reply received
25 Aug 2017: Family emergency, BVB granted
15 Sep 2017: Uploaded photos and an update summary of the things that are happening this year since it has almost been a year since we front loaded our documents. I noticed here that my sponsor status is now 'approved' (not sure since when because I don't log into my ImmiAccount very often)
19 Sep 2017: Received the grant for my 820 today! (overall without any contact from a CO)

Here is the summary of our relationship:
Apr 2012: first met
Jul 2012: started a relationship
Sep 2014: he proposed
Oct 2014: our official engagement
Jan 2016: we got married

Hopefully this helps and I hope everyone receives their grant soon! Let me know if you would like to ask about anything :)

Oh, so how about.

We landed in Perth last night after 4 months in Italy doing family shit.

About 30 minutes after they scanned my wife's passport at the airport, she got an email with her 820 visa approval!!

Talk about weird!

Just this last week we'd uploaded a new police report (they needed new ones because we were overseas longer than 6 weeks) and boarding passes (this last just the morning we flew).

As mentioned, in another post, I'd sent the department an email informing them of our future re-entry date a couple of weeks ago. Got no reply then, but evidently someone was listening.

So here's our timeline:

Entered Oz on the 12th October 2016
Applied - 13th October 2016
Medical - 23rd March 2017 (3 months after 2nd baby)
BVB - mid April 2017 (valid 7 and half months)
820 Approval 19th September 2017

11 months and 1 week all up.

Now we're deciding whether to write an email asking why we didn't get immediate approval for the 801. We've been living together since May 2014, but it was hard to show in terms of evidence. Two people of a certain age don't suddenly need to have joint bank accounts Etc as soon as they move in together, you know.

But anyway, it's a good result. Obviously we're stoked!

Edit... misread dates. You can try contacting them as that has worked for someone on here before.

Yeah, I know. I remember the thread.

The fact is, I pretty much uploaded all the evidence we had. We didn't have much to start with, tbh. the evidence of us living together was deliveries to the residence for me (TV, mobile phone and other bits and pieces), emails that I sent to businesses in the area when I was looking for work that explained I was living with my partner, and the fact that I was registered with the municipality. Also had a bank account that would send corrispondence to that address. Very little else.

So I'm thinking they didn't think it enough evidence to approve the 801.

That said, I'm sure it wouldn't hurt to thank them for the approval for the 820 and then enquire as to the reasoning re. not approving the 2nd stage as well.

OMG

We're such idiots. I just checked the immi account and there was a 2nd email dated the 19/9 that my wife hadn't seen. I figured it was a replicate of the notification of grant of 820. Instead, it was a notification of grant of 801.

So that's a wrap then, I guess?!

Needless to say, we just had a bit of a cry. A lot of stress has now come to an end finally.

Without the help and support of this group, I'm a hundred percent sure this wouldn't have come through for us the way it has.

Thanks from the bottom of my heart.

For those still waiting, don't despair. If you've been honest in your application and proactive since, it will eventually come through for you too. But I know that's cold comfort to those still waiting and wondering.

Thanks again folks. I'll be lurking for sure over the years, so I look forward to helping the n00bs when I feel I have something of value to impart.

Cheers.

OMG! This is so awesome! Congratulations!

Can you please tell me...after applying on 13 Oct 2016, when did you hear the DIBP for the first time?

One more quick question, did you both (sponsor and applicant) have to provide Statutory Declaration? I mean not the Form 888 but the specific declaration for sponsor and the applicant?

Thank you, and congrats again!

1) We didn't hear from them at all until we applied for a BVB in April this year so we could head back to Italy for a spell. We got an email thanking us for informing them and suggesting my wife get a 2nd police clearance (actually two separate forms in Italy). They also said we should make sure to update our contact details should they need to contact us. They also told us to enjoy our trip, lol. After that nothing but generic auto-replies whenever we emailed the Perth temporary visa processing HQ.

2) Do you mean the 5 relationship statements eg. "nature of the relationship/household" etc stuff? We each did a statement, which had 5 headings for each the topics you need to cover. I didn't see the point in doing one statement each for each topic. That would have been 10 stat decs! And in the end, we didn't even get it witnessed by a JP or other. We just signed our respective printed doc and then scanned and uploaded. Done.

Keep in mind, we have two kids together. I don't think they put much weight on our statements to be honest...

Hi Rruummaann

Just wondering whether you heard anyone back yet? If yes, what they asked for? I applied in February, hence curious. Thank you.

regards

Hi everyone,

I have applied for my 820 VISA on 12th of December 2016 and got BV granted on 14th of December.

I have done my medical and police check up and submitted all by the end of December and ever since I have been waiting and its nearly 9 months and still no decision.

I know it takes time but not sure how long to get the first decision. If the whole onshore partner VISA process takes 24 months, then I believe it should not take that long to see the result but under this circumstance if anyone could suggest about the next step that would be really appreciated.

However, in my ImmiAccount I have uploaded 60 files already and I still feel like need to upload more docs but it has already exceeded my limit already. even tho my wife's account got online 6 files uploaded out of 60. Therefore, I am wondering if there is anything to do with this file submission to immi decision.

Please advice if you are familiar to this situation.

Thank you.

Hi all,

Congratulations to everyone who recently got their visa approved, must be such a relief!!

I applied for the 820 on 20 January 2017 and today I received an email from Partner Temporary QLD with the heading Important - Action required. It looks like a pretty generic email, with basically a reminder to upload all the documents that are required. I have uploaded everything already in January, but have held off doing my medical, as I know processing times are long. The email also states that it is not a formal request and as such there is no specific time frame.

I have just had a look at the BUPA website to see when I can book my medical appointment for, and there are slots available for next week Thursday and Friday in Brisbane, which I most likely won't be able to make due to work commitments. However, after that it looks like there are no appointments available at all? Even if I forward to say February 2018. I also tried Toowoomba, which is a QLD regional centre - and there I don't even have the option to select a date. I just have to fill in a form and send it off. Does that mean that they will basically allocate a date to me? Because that's not ideal either.

Does anyone recognise this? How far in advance have you guys actually booked your medical for?
And how serious do I have to take this reminder email that I received? Because I was pretty excited and nervous about it haha! :)

Do your medical. Plenty of time has passed. You're not jumping the gun by doing it now. Give them everything they need, and then reply to the same email saying as much. You'll probably just get an automated response, but trust me, they'll see it.

More than 6 months have passed. Do your medical!

Hello Roy,

Thanks :)

Yes, in addition to Form 888 from witnesses, we both write statutory declaration about the history of our relationship, from when we first met until we got married and applied for the Partner Visa.

Regarding the nature of household, sharing of finances etc, we wrote them on the online application, there are several questions like these as mentioned by Marcellus that you need to answer in the online application. But I just checked our docs again, and we did submit a joint statement in addition to answering these questions online, summarising the nature of our household and the sharing of finances. We just made a free-format statement (not stat-dec), signed by the both of us and a witness (pharmacist).

An extra statement is not required if you fill in the online boxes. If you choose to do an extra statement, it can be as simple as typing it up in word amd attaching it. There's no requirement to get it witnessed though some people choose to.

Hi Roy,

No I have not heard anything from them as of now and its I guess a bit early to expect that anyway since I launched my application on 12th of December 2016. As you may know usually they take up to 19-21 months to finalize most of the application, so yeah I have been still waiting.

However, we were blessed to have a baby in the meantime, therefore, I am hoping the decision will be out a bit quicker than average.

I have already applied for a police clearance from my country and now I am thinking if I should go for medication test once again which I have already done right after I applied for 820. Since the validity of the medical test is only for 12 months.

I hope my information will help you some.

Thank you.

Thanks fantastic! Congratulations!

After applying in February, we also had a baby and I attached baby documents already. However, no contact from DIBP yet 1:(.

If it's not a lot to ask for, can you please post it here when you hear from them? I am really stressed out, hence little impatient too.

Enjoy your parenthood!

regards

Hello there!

We have been waiting for 17 months ( 18 months waiting time in 2 weeks!) and we heard nothing! Nothing!

How can I contact the Department to get an update? :( Or can I do anything?

Hope to hear from you soon.

You're still within the current posted Global Processing Times so not much you can do. You can try calling or emailing if it makes you feel better but don't expect much from it.

My number one advice to you is to simply call your local Bupa center. I requested an appointment online, only to receive an email from them telling me I had to call to set up an appointment (this was in VIC). So, despite immi telling us to book online, most people end up having to call to set up an appointment anyway. Appointments could only be made a week in advance, and on one of two weekdays. I had to call around 8am (or whenever the center opened) to set up my appointment for the following week; if I didn't call at that time, the appointments would have filled up, and I would have to wait another week to make an appointment.

I'm not sure if Bupa centers are like this all over in regards to the medical, but I have heard several people on here say they went through the same process. So, bottom line--call them. Good luck! :)
