Hi

Attention onshore partner visa applicants.
The global processing time for 820 has gone up to 24 months for 75% ans 30 months for 90% on immi website yesterday. It has blown up 3 times doulbe since i have lodged my application (January 2017) which is ridiculous. I hope it has end somewhere or they shouldn't implement this to all the past applications but anyways they do it and nobody can challenge them it is so annoying.
Please leave your views everyone?
Yes, It has just changed.I am wondering if lodge a written letter complaint will help to clear the doubtful point? This is bureaucratism to its extreme.I lodge my application for my partner in Jan 2017 as well. Patched up couple AFP check Mid last year then hear nothing since then. This is joke.

I agree this is not fair at all. The current government policies is all about ripping off immigrants which is shame and I guarantee that this is gonna create so much discrimination in this society when someone will become Australian citizen after being through this whole.
Anyways written complaint will at least aware them that people are observing their actions. So please do and i will do as well.

820 Visa, where to upload evidence?

Hey everyone,

I am new to the forum and have been using it recently to help me with my 820 application. I have submitted the online application form and paid and I am currently trying to upload/attach documents. I am really struggling as to where to put certain evidence as I feel some could go in more than one category. I have organised my evidence using the 4 aspects they look at (Financial commitments, nature of household etc). The main thing I am struggling with is the length of defacto section, I am aware this should be where we prove we have lived together for 12 months (although there is also a separate 'living together' section). Here are the things I am thinking of putting in the length of defacto heading:
- joint bank account statements/confirmation
- mail addressed to the same address
- utilities address to same address

I am unsure where to upload things such as, travel tickets, accomodation bookings, joint activities? Can anybody offer advice as to what they did in this section?

Thanks in advance & Good Luck to everyone :)

yeah I'd like to know that as well and where to upload photos of us with familly.

Also do you have to prove defacto evn if you are married for more than three years?

Hi guys- just to give you an update got my 820 visa, with great timing just before I went to France on holiday. My advice (which I found very hard to follow at times) is you have to just live your life, and not function constantly wondering what if, unfortunately this thing is a lottery, mine took basically 14 months and was a straight enough case from a low risk country. Others take shorter or longer. It's hard for your partner if you're constantly stressed, so always remember it will happen. Keep the faith.

Applied 1 June 2017
Birth certificates requested April 2018
Granted 820- July 27 2018

Congratulations Britch :)
We have now been waiting since May 2016 and still there has been no response after lodging few inquiries and phone calls. Now with the processing time being moved to 30 months, i cant help but feel hopeless.

Got my grant notice today! A long wait but not as long as others. Just have to stay positive and try not to check your email 50 times a day. I was stuck on a 457 in a job I am not happy with but the relief is immense knowing I can now leave my job if I want!

Timeline

13 July 2017- Applied

10 June 2018- Case Officer rang my partner to tell him he was approved to be a sponsor

21 June 2018- did my medical without being requested

2 July 2018- Request for more info. Police checks from Canada and AFP. Also new bank statements and additional proof to show we are currently together.

26 July 2018- All proof submitted and pressed button to confirm.

27 July 2018- Applied for BVB as I am going to Canada for 4 weeks in Aug/Sept

30 July 2018- Got an email saying to withdraw my BVB application and request a refund as a BVB is not necessary since my 457 was still in effect

31 July 2018- 820 grant notice!!

Couldn't be happier. Good luck to you all and thank you for the help over the last year.

Hi guys,
I applied for my 820 on April 7th 2018, and haven't heard anything, not that I'm expecting to for a while. I completed all medical, police checks, etc to upload with the application, I'd say this was all complete by end of April.
I'm guessing I just wait for a phone call now, or for my partner to be contacted regarding his sponsorship.
Feel as though this year is flying, so hopefully it won't feel as though it's been so long when the time comes to get the results 🙂
Good luck to everyone, and congrats to those who have been approved already

Hi guys,
Our 820 got approved at 5:45pm Sydney time this evening!!!! We've had a long journey. My wife Nui is from Thailand. We first applied for the 300 Prospective Marriage Visa 19th July 2016. Nui then arrived August 2016 on a 3 months tourist visa with the no further stay condition applied. She returned to Thailand in November 2016 and we applied for a new tourist visa. This was granted within 4 days. Nui was back in Thailand for 3 weeks all up before coming back again in December 2016 on a new 3 months tourist visa only this time without the no further stay condition. In January 2017 I applied online to change to a 6 months multi entry visa to allow travel in April 2017 to Thailand and return home with me. During our trip to Thailand in April 2017 we were granted the prospective marriage visa after 9 months waiting time. We applied for 820 22nd May 2017. Police checks requested 26th July. 820 approved today after 14 months waiting!

820 granted! YAYY

Hi guys!

Our 820 was granted last night, it was so much faster than expected YAYYY!
I've never posted on the forums, but read many threads to help us with preparing our 820 application. So thank you everyone for making this place a great ressource and support center :)

It wasn't easy to prepare the evidence because we spent most of our time in the past 4 years of our relationship living with each other's families in Australia and France (no lease or utility bills at our names), road triping around Australia and Europe in our cars (hardly any bookings at our names) and even twice apart for 5 and 3 months. But we found ways to make it possible for our CO to be sure of our commitment and relationship. I am obviously not a professional, but if some of you with a similar history have trouble preparing their evidence and need some ideas and little tips, feel free to contact me ;)

Good luck to all of you still waiting, I sincerely hope you will have a quick and happy resolution soon too.

TIMELINE

Application Moved to "In Progress"

Hi All:

I applied for my 820 on 19 May 2017. This morning I received an automated email stating that my: "We are writing to inform you that your application for a Partner visa is in progress. Your application takes time to process as we complete a number of thorough checks."

Does this mean anything with my status has changed, or is this the equivalent of one of those messages when you are holding on the phone that says essentially, "thank you for continuing to hold, your call will be answered in the order it was received."

Everything in my application is ready, EXCEPT I have not done a medical check. Was wondering if this email means that I should go ahead and get that medical check scheduled.

On an unrelated note, I see that now, estimated global wait times are at 24 to 30 months. Wow is all I can say.

Exactly Same Here!!! CO from Bangkok Embassy contact us for PC in the early Apr 2018 and we lodged all docs within 5 days but no response since then. We even have to pay for a BVB for my business trip recently which is very disappointing.

Our case is significantly straight forward and should be decision ready when I providing the PC. I totally do not see the point why it takes so long after the PC has been provided.
