So I finally got the email from Immigration to start stage 2 of my 820/801.

Applied for PMV : March 2017
Granted PMV: Oct 2017

Applied 820 : June 2018
Granted 820: Jan 2019

About to apply for 801 and lo and behold, my agent sends me a huge checklist and forms to fill out for stage 2, similar to when i applied for the first stage.

Is this necessary? The forms part gets to me as I've done those twice for the PMV and then 820.

I know what you mean, but at least not much for the sponsor to do this time. Just the sponsor declaration.

But three applications does get tiresome. Hope you have copies of the old ones to follow..

820 granted! 801 questions...

Hi All,

I have found this forum extremely helpful over the last 2 years - so thanks for everyone's input.

My 820 has been approved - approx 16 months ago. I'm British and applied in Sydney.

As I start looking at applying for the 801, I had a few questions that weren't clear on the Immi website:
1: Would I need to resubmit a police check (both Aussie and international)? As Immi website suggests only if you didn't submit it when applying for 820 (however the wording is vague and unclear).

2: When applying for 820, both my partner and myself had to complete a Stat Dec (Partner Visa). However it seems that when applying for 801, it's only my partner who needs to complete this - is this correct?

PMV to 820 in 2020

Hey all,

I've been following this thread closely and its been really helpful.

We applied for 820 coming form PMV 300 on 8 Feb 2020. From what i've learnt here, PMV to 820 grants should be faster, just wondering if anyone has gotten a 820 grant recently, specifically coming from PMV300 or have they stopped processing them during this period.

Cheers.

Just wondering if someone can tell me from where i can get DOHA inquiry form for requesting fast track application.
My degree is finishing in 6months but my student visa Is valid till August 2021.
It's a really long time to get Bridging Visa A ineffect.
I did got to know other ways to get student visa cancelled after degree but all are risky and I don't want to do those.
Please guide.

Hi Everyone,
It's my first time posting but I have been following and reading the posts on here for a long while.
July 2018: Applied 820 visa. We submitted front-loaded application ready for assessment.

Since July 2018 we have been uploding docuemnts. We have not heard anything back yet, except for the auto-generating emails noting "Application in Progress"
Also recently, the global processing time disappeared from my immi account page. Has that happened for everyone is it just mine?

Basically, I’m getting anxious and want to ask if anyone here has been waiting over 24 months for their 820 partner visa?

Thank you for your help

Hi everyone

When applying for the 820, is the Stat Dec compulsory for both the applicant and sponsor?

We didn't submitted them as part of our 820/801 application as thought it's covered under the 'relationship details' section of the application ie mutual commitments, household aspects etc.

Any advice would be much appreciated.

Regards
NB

Just got our grant today!

Applied late August 2019. No Agent, Aus citizen + Thai partner of ~1.7years at the time.
Gave a relationship update 6 months in.
Asked for more info June 2020, 2 police checks from previous countries of residence.
Submitted the checks early July.
820 visa grant today!

We are so happy, feels good to know our efforts on the application have proved fruitful so far. Really a great feeling, looking forward to applying for the 801 next year.

Worried Sick

Hi,

I am new to this forum and would love for anyone's advice on what can I do for my visa appliaction

Applied for 820 on- 03 Jul 2018
Department requested partner's Australian National Police Check (NPC)- 05 Feb 2019

I have not heard from the department since, except the annual "application in progress" emails. When I first applied the processing time was under 18 months now its upto 24 months for 90% application. I am currently on 25 months and now I am really worried. I have called the 131881 number 7-8 times over these 25 months and each time they say if the application says its processing then they or me anyone can not do anything.

Looking at some of other people's timeline on this forum mine looks too delayed. Does anyone have any advice on what can I do to fast track the process?

Thanks in advance.

Some nationalities take longer than others, due to some of the information required from their home countries.

Some countries supply this faster than others.

Have you had anyone look over your application to ensure it is complete?

Hi,

Thanks for replying, who can I ask to do that?

Thanks

Some people use a registered migration agent to check over their application.

Thanks @JandE. Thats is useful.

I will first again go through my application again and get in touch with an agent if required. Would you know if I can contact athe Immigration department in some manner to get more clarity on what is happening?

Also, I was waiting on getting the police check as and when requested as mentioned on the website, but would getting it beforhand and attaching to the application help to fasttrack?

Thanks

From what I have heard I doubt if that would help.
The answer might be something like: Covid-19 is delaying things, please keep waiting.

I personally think it would help, but some people say to wait until immigration request it.

I have seen quite a few grants being done where people upload the Police checks and medicals with the application, fully front loaded. I personally didn't want to wait a year for a request, and did these with the application.

In your situation I would upload it now, and add a note asking if they are waiting for anything else.

We are in the same boat. I applied on July, 2018 and submitted front-loaded application ready for assessment. But, I have not heard anything back yet, except for the auto-generating emails noting "Application in Progress"
It is very frustrating. Let's hope they will contact us soon.
