Applied 24th of June 2014 and still no news. I got the generic e-mail in March that my application was tansferred to Perth. i wonder, because i'm eligible for 801 straight away (having a child together and been living together more than 2 years) makes the difference and requires longer processing...

Just so you know DIBP does not have to request additional documents they can make a decision without requesting them.

I used a migration agents. He said it can be done when we get a case officer. So waiting now

Becky one of forum members was told she didn't need to supply any evidence until the case officer asked for it. She was rejected due to lack of evidence.

The location was Brisbane.

She ended up going offshore and applied for a 309.

Personally I would not be waiting. Submit the evidence yourself if need be.

Oh wow! It sounds like you need a new migration agent...that advice is not a wise one. DIBP is not obligated to request additional info except medicals and police checks. Don't leave your visa application completely in the hands of someone else - upload crucial documents asap/or demand that the agent get that done in short order.

Hi all,

I have a couple of naive questions I'm hoping someone can kindly answer.

My partner is here on a PMV visa, and we got married last month. We're pooling all the information to send soon. We will send it online.

-Do we just use the same IMMI account profile, but begin a new application?

-Will it be assessed by someone from his embassy (Turkey) in Australia? Or is there a general immigration office here in Australia that processes onshore applications?

-Do we need to send through absolutely every document that we have, including documents we sent for our PMV? Or just relevant documents we have collected SINCE the PMV was granted?

-Is he allowed to travel abroad while his PMV is still valid, and he has applied for the 820 but hasn't yet been granted the 820 temporary? For example, if we send the application now, and he returns home to Turkey for two weeks for a family visit next month, then returns to Australia all before or while the 820 is granted, but while still on a valid PMV, will he get into trouble? He really needs to head home for two weeks for a family event, but it will be after we have applied for the 820, and possibly before IMMI has had a chance to make a decision about his 820.

3/ it doesn't matter what you approve as it is pretty much a tick and flick job.

4/ generally PMV to 820 is pretty fast but if he is offshore when they are ready to grant they will wait for him to come back. There is no issue with him going offshore while his PMV is still active. After the BVA kicks in he needs a BVB (if not approved before then)

This such a silly request from DIBP, this is what they told me to do:

1. Get 2 passport sized photos.
2. Write your name on the back of one photo.
3. Scan both photos on the same page: one with picture side down and the other name side down.

I hope that makes sense. lol

Haven't heard anything

I applied on 26th April 2015 for Partner 820. Apart from the bridging visa grant I haven't heard anything. Should I be worried? Have I missed something? Should I call DIBP? Or is this normal? I know the wait can be a day to a year and a half. Looks like mine may end up being a longer wait.

Hi.
My one lodged oct 2014. Only bVa granted, nothing else. I think you should take it easy. Nothing worried now, breathing normally and collect more papers and ready when they ask. Waiting until a year and call, as someone told me they can give visa without any more paper work.

Don't be worried about it, It's unlikely you'll hear anything until they need police checks or medicals/more info etc (if those haven't been supplied already). Best just to try and put it out of your mind for a bit! I applied in September 2014 and have yet to hear anything other than the grant of my bva and bvb

Hi everyone, I applied partner visa (de facto) on online in NSW on 23/06/2014, and granted today (17/07). I'm from Japan (low risk country) but took it quite a while. Anyway, I've been reading heaps of stuff on this forum and really appreciate all the information which you share. Couldn't have dome without this! Thanks heaps! Now sit back and wait another year till apply for PR!
