My partner and I are planning to lodge an 820 visa application we have been together 10 months, live together and have a joint bank account.

Do you think we will have a problem as we have not been together the full 12 months? is it worth registering our relationship before we apply we are in Sydney in NSW

Unless you meet the 12 month de-facto requirement, get married or register the relationship, your application will be refused.

Please wait until your 12 month period of living together is complete and you can prove it on paper.... then apply anytime after that.
