Hello
I have aproved 820 partner visa. I hold hungarian passport which will expire within 5 months.
I want to visit my father and to get my new passport from Hungary. Can i travel outside Australia with 1 way ticket or do i need return ticket since i will change my passport and update it on immigration. Thank you for your time

You can travel on any ticket you like. As you say, you will need to update your new passport details in your immi account.

They won't make any problem on the airport if i get return ticket? Because the passport number will change as i get a new one.
You should check that with the airline.

I was curious, as I assumed it would not be an issue.

I found two answers from travel companies.

  1. We do not require your passport number to book a flight.
  2. It is possible that your airline does not allow passengers to alter or add passport numbers after booking the flight
  3. 2018 - Most airlines and third-party travel sites don't require you to input a passport number at the time of booking

It appears to vary..

Thank you aswell:) I will call them up.
Is it bad or suspicious to immigration if people travel with 1 way ticket outside australia with the partner visa 820? I plan to stay only 4-6 weeks.
