My fiance and I are trying to work though some Visa paper work and have a couple of questions that I hope someone here can help with.
Some details:
1. I am an Australian citizen and she is a US citizen here on a WHV.
2. We have been living together for 12 months in Jan and will be married before her WHV expires in May.
3. We would like to stay in Australia until the end of 2018 and then relocate to Europe for work for a few years and then possibly return to Australia.
The only valid Visa option I can see for us is to go down the 801/820 route. However, as it takes some 20 months for the 820 to be approved and we do not want to be in the country in 20 months, what options do we have? I understand that if we apply for the 820 Visa from Australia we'd need to be here when its approved. Is there any way that a proxy or agent could handle that or does one get enough notice prior to approval such that we could fly back for a week or so?
Any advice would be much appreciated.
