My partner is currently doing her 88 days farm work, so that she may be able to apply for a second year on her Work and Holiday visa, to extend her stay while we apply for her Partner Visa here.

She is working on what I assume is a piecewise rate. She was paid for $60 for 8 hours (an average of $7.50/hr) - is this right? What happened to the minimum wage? I read $23.66 somewhere. 8 hours is also full-time rate, and as far as I know, weekends are expected to be taken off for full-time work but still count as worked days, but her employer does not allow this.

Can someone please provide clarification on these issues? Thank you.

At a guess it's a cash in hand and she doesn't get a payslip?
In short they'll be doing a shonky and it won't count.
Not sure how you figure the weekend's count as worked days

It is a complicated area and never have I got a clear answer.

Cash in hand as such in work areas is not uncommon nor illegal.

I never got a simple answer on the 88 days.

No, it's not cash in hand, she gets a payslip. She just got her first one yesterday, and for two days full-time work, she earned $104.62 gross, $88.62 net. Would she be better off getting a job the pays hourly?

In terms of getting a visa it doesn't matter, you are getting the evidence of the work.
In terms of money check the award.
My wife did raspberry picking which was per punnet but the way they did it they never got less than the minimum wage, as you said 24 a hour.
