The Australian forum is continually growing with new members and though we get most enquiries about immigration issues, that's not surprising for the system does take some getting used to and is regularly being revised.

Australia is a fairly large island continent and though having quite some diversity of landscape, by far the majority is very dry.
There has in fact been something of a severe drought throughout most of the country for the past decade, with something of drought busting rains occurring in many areas just now.

Other than those rains, many areas are a bit like a lunar landscape, barren and dry/dusty or hazardous to the extreme with raging bushfires in forested areas that also dry out and have heavy forest floor fuel loads.

So a fair bit of info that prospective immigrants ought to make themselves familiar with and feel free to go starting up general info threads in our Current events and Chitchat sections, a great way for members to get to know oneanother and find out more about the country and our cities in having good discussions on various aspects.
