Hi All,
I want to apply for a skills assessment as a Computer Network and Systems Engineer but I'm not sure if my current qualifications and skills meet the requirements for this occupation!!
I had a free assessment from a MARA agent and he assessed my skills as a Network Administrator (which I believe that I do have its required skills) however I prefer to apply for a skills assessment as a Computer Network and Systems Engineer to get more visa and state nomination options (189,190, different state nomination).

Honestly I would say that I don't currently have the requirements for the occupation Computer Network and Systems Engineer and therefore I would like to know the minimum technical/practical skills & experiences that I would need to add to my current skills to be qualified for this occupation.

My current qualifications/skills/experiences:

Education / Certifications:

 Installing, Configuring, Troubleshooting & fixing network/local printers (HP LaserJet 1312, 2015, 2050 series, HP MFP M3035/M4345).
 Troubleshooting and fixing network connectivity problems on PCs/Laptops.
 Perfuming preventive maintenance, diagnosing performance issues, troubleshooting & fixing software/hardware problems on desktop systems.
 Creating and deploying of systems images.
 Recording, updating of incidents details & resolutions using BMC Remedy system.

IT Technician (1 yr)
 Providing computer helpdesk support and technical training on hardware/software to end users.

Win Server 2003/2008 Active Directory

So what are the (minimum) skills do I need to add to my current skills to be able to get a positive skills assessment by the ACS for the occupation as Computer Network and Systems Engineer??

If I get a vendor certification CCNA/CCNP/VMware..etc, do I have to have a working experience on its topics to be recognized?

for example: I'm a CCNP and I know all the networking skills related to this certificate but I don't use these skills at work - if I'm a desktop engineer for instance - is my CCNP going to be recognized?
OR
I should be CCNP and practicing CCNP topics at work?

Your advice and feedback is greatly appreciated..

Thanks in advance..

Hi Niggy,

Assessing migration eligibility accurately, particularly for ACS Candidates, requires a number of skills and experience. An assessment has to take into account your academic qualifications, certifications, length of your total work experience, relevance of your work experience to your nominated occupation and your current situation regarding work experience letters. I suggest you approach a MARA registered agent who is skilled and experienced in this area to get some reliable advice and assistance.

Regards
