Hello,

What is the different between PASA(1.0) General form and PASA(2.0) Recognization of Prior LEarning Form as applicable to the Skills assessment by ACS.
I have a 4 years Degree in Bachelors of Technology Electronics and Instrumentation from Regional Engineering College Punjab, India passed in June 2002. and have IT experience since Jan 2003 till date(fulltime)
Which form should I be filling for skills assessment ?

Thanks

Have a good read of all the ACS site including links/FAQ and it should be self explanatory.
Any experience required is usually post qualification and you need to be able to document your experience in detail.

RPL or SKILLS?

So Gaurav, did you get your ACS assessment cleared? I am in a similar boat as you.

I was looking forward to apply for Australia Immigration and almost ready with papers to file the application.

In the online application form there comes an option where one has to choose "Skills Application Type" . I am confused which one suits me the best : SKILLS or RPL?

My Qualification is Bachelor of Engineering in Electronics and Telecommunications from India.

And work wise I am working in software industry as a software engineer for almost 7 years now.

Please advice which is the correct option for me to file my papers? Do I need to file RPL assessment or normal assessment under SKILLS will be good for me?

Please advice.

Thanks

Hey Gaurav & Aar Kay,

I have same situation like you. My Engineering is in Electronics but my 5 years work experience is in IT as SAP consultant. As per the page suggested immi.gov.au for System Administrator - 262113

I guess 5 years experience is enough to substitute the formal education but I am not sure and i need second opinion on that

Secondly same as your doubt I am not sure whether for skill assessment from ACS. Should I fill RPL form or general assessment form?
Since I want to get it done asap so i can file my pr application before July 2011.

Guys I would really appreciate if you will throw some light on this.

Regards
Harry

5 yrs is very appropriate - you will fall in group A applicants.

No need to go for RPL, go for normal skills. I know few people with similar profile who did not apply for RPL, check expatforums dot com.

Hi Harry,

Mind to share your ACS assessment timeline?

I have an online application submited - 20 March 2011
Sent in my documents by courier - ACS received on 24 March 2011 (Traced by DHL)
Till now, still waiting for an allocator to review my case.

Is this normal? What is your timeline? Please share.
