Hi everyone,

I am preparing to lodge 820/801 Partner visa. I am the sponsor and it is onshore. I have been working on getting everything together so I can just upload all the evidence once my partner submits the 47S.
DO I need to create my own ImmiAcct to submit the 40SP and use the TRN from my partner. Is it worth applying for the AFP police checks now and Medical health check or wait. We already have a national police check as we are in the process of doing IVF and in Victoria a Police check and Child protection check is mandatory before starting IVF. I know the AFP check is different. Any advise would be appreciated. TIA

My husband and I created two separate immi accounts but some people choose to use one account for both the applicant and sponsor. Yes you'll use the TRN from the applicant when you do the sponsor form and you won't be able to fully complete the sponsor form until the applicant's app is paid for and submitted.

My sponsor did the AFP and submitted when we applied. I suppose some people wait a few months in case processing times take over a year.

Medical examinations are for the applicants, not sponsors.

Thank you so much Skyblewbrewer. I didn't know we can use the one ImmiAccount. I think we will just use the same one. 🙂

We chose to create 2 ImmiAccounts so that you can upload the sponsor's docs on his/her Account instead of "wasting" precious uploading space on the applicant's (you'll have 60+60 files instead of just 60)

That's a brilliant idea. Is it ok to double up on both ... for example utility bills and lease agreement on 47sp and 40sp or do we need to try n find different evidence?

No you do not need to double-upload documents. I'd upload all the evidence on the applicant's account, and leave sponsor's evidence (passport, birth cert, photo, statements, etc.) on the other (the application will be automatically linked anyway). Based on your circumstances the sponsor might need to upload up to 10 pieces of evidence, or the CO might ask for further information, so it is handy to have some spare slots in the main account ;)

I'm a bit confused!
So if i upload most of the evidence on the applicants account.
The sponsor being myself would be passport, birth certificate, i guess IVF evidence, different photos, police check, statement.. not sure of anything else. Perhaps my personal bank account where deposits gone into joint acct and money spent on stuff as a couple.

We did it all on one immi account but sure we had 60 uploads for each.

Yeah, exactly!

You're still saving "slots" on the applicant's account, which has to upload a much greater amount of documents, evidence, 888 forms, etc :D

Oh really? well, in that case forget about what I said, lol

Thanks for clarifying Cesa 😁 ... I got it now haha. My brain is in over drive with getting my head around it all. Rigjt now I'm trying to find a checklist and check things off . I will then get copies certified by JP and scan them in ready to upload after I submit the 47sp and pay. Hoping to get all that done over the weekend ready to submit next week. Fingers crossed.

We did ours under one account. We have 60 upload slots for each of us. Since my two sons are also included, that means we have 60 x 4 slots to upload things (240 total). Well, we did until they approved my partner as sponsor, now we can't upload anything else under his name. At this point, I can only upload under my sons' names, as I used all 60 under my own. We were adding the extras under my partner's until they approved his. Now, I'm just adding the extras under my son's.

Anyway, it's really up to you whether you want to have 2 immi accounts, or just the one. BTW, you don't have to have things certified if you upload color scans of the originals. The only things that you will have to have certified are any statutory declarations. Might save you some time. :)

Like said above, only stat decs need to be certified if you're applying online and uploading scanned coloured copies.

And for doubling up, we didn't. Basically, everything regarding the relationship (evidence, F888s, etc) was added to my account and my partner just uploaded whatever was required of him to his account (IDs, AFP, etc).

Also, organise yourself well. Try to put similar evidences under one pdf to upload and compress it if required. For example, we like to holiday alone, with friends, and with family. We put evidence of those holidays (flights, hotels, tix of things done there) under one pdf so we only had to upload one pdf instead of several pdfs done individually for each holiday.

We went under the idea of supplying what we need to show our relationship effectively without providing too much in the way of files. If I were a CO, I feel I'd be more inclined to finish a case quickly if things are simply organised and not all over the place. You definitely should not have to use all the upload slots...

I can't remember how many exactly, but I used less than 30 on mine (and I included a child in the application) and my partner only used a few slots under his. Granted, our 300 didn't require as much as a de facto as we didn't have joint bills since we lived in two different countries, but I still didn't use many more upload slots for the 820 when we finally did have combined evidence such as lease agreement, etc.

I just looked at ours.

For the PMV 300 we used 20 on the applicant and 9 on the sponsor

For the 820 we used 18 for the Applicant, with nothing required on the sponsor.

We did do quite a few combined, eg the 888's went as one PDF file.
But the Form 80 went up as 4 different jpg's.(19 pages of screenshots over 4 jpg's - PDF didn't work for some reason)

Thank you LadyRogueRayne, When you say no need to have things certified. I thought passports and drivers license need to be certified. :)

Hi SkyBlueBrewer
I haven't had the chance to see what it looks like to in regards to uploading. I completed the online application and just putting evidence together to submit and upload. I am a bit confused when you said you put evidence of holidays under one PDF. How do you do that. I have only really scanned things as a PDF file and never created anything, so I think I am going to be screwed. Is it an easy process to use. It certainly makes the organising more affective for the CO to open up the one file and see everything in one place. I think I need a lesson in PDF.

I just checked what we did.
For the 300 PMV the passport uploads were not certified. In fact I am not sure anything was certified for that one.

But for the 820 we did upload certified copies of the passport. I assume we were asked for certified copies. We uploaded those 3 months after the application, and just 4 days before we got the grant.

My driver licence was not certified, just a Mobile phone image uploaded.

We also uploaded the not certified marriage certificate on 14/5/16, but had to upload a certified copy on 14/8/16, and got the grant on 18/8/16

I did an online one once, uploaded a few PDF's and got one single PDF back with everything in it. I can't remember which service I used now.

I also used Windows paint, and added a load of photos into one big photo. 8 photos into one 360kb image. Shrunk down into one 864 x 1634 image.

You're welcome. No need to certify them unless they aren't colored copies. That's the great thing about being able to upload it all online. Saves a lot of time not needing it all certified. Cheers and good luck! :)

I never had to upload certified copies of anything but every CO is different. As far as merging pdfs, you can use a free service online via google search as mentioned by JandE. I had the option when scanning to scan as many things as I wanted and save them under one pdf if I did them all in one session, so that made it easy.

I like the idea of using paint for the photos. I will look into that one :)
Thanks for the PDF merge tip JandE, I will get onto searching and playing with that one.
