I am trying to get permanent residency in Australia.

I would like to also see if there is a way to get a work visa, as I have a lot of TESOL* qualifications, and I could possibly get a 489 visa for either South Australia or Tasmania.

However, the market for TESOL isn't great these days, especially for ELICOS programs in English speaking countries, so I am not confident in my prospects of getting an invitation. So, I am also planning to apply for a Masters program in Australia as well.

However, I don't know if this will affect my ability to get either. Is there a rule against applying for two different types of visas at the same time?

I am a US citizen fwiw, with about 75-85 points depending on the region. I am trying to find the answer to this before I pay the VETASSESS fee.
