Hi,

I am living in Australia on a PR visa. My wife is outside Australia and has applied for partner visa-subclass(309) about a month ago. Now she wants to come to Australia on a tourist visa.

My question is are there any restrictions on applying for a tourist visa while partner visa application is under process? I don't exactly remember where, but it seems i read somewhere that while your partner visa(temporary) application is under process you should not apply for tourist visa as it will cancel your current partner visa application and transfer your application to tourist visa category. On the other hand someone told me that tourist visa applications will be rejected while partner visa application is under process.

Can anyone please help in this regard? TIA

There are no restrictions on your wife applying for a visitor visa while her partner visa is being processed. Many people do that. It won't affect her partner visa application.
If the visitor is ending and my offshore partner visa is still under process, can i apply for another visitor while onshore(if "NO FURTHER STAY" is not given on my current visa).
